I got a breast augmentation done by Dr. Kim just about a week and a half ago(I know I’m still in the healing process but I’m yelping because he’s that good!). Prior to choosing Dr. Kim, I took a lot of time to do a lot of research on many different plastic surgeons (I’ve been wanting to do this for about 10 years so you can believe that I’ve done a LOT OF RESEARCH). Upon researching “plastic surgeons” on many search engines, Dr. Kim of Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery came up multiple times as search results. In the end I chose to go with Dr. Kim his work and reviews are very high. There were a few reasons for this: 1. his website had a lot of pictures of his work (HUNDREDS), and each picture showed perfection in his work, 2. he has been doing this for a very long time, 3. my friend also decided to go with him, 4. he had clients from all over the globe, 5. the list just goes on.
Dr. Kim accommodates clients from far away. You can arrange for a consultation with him via telephone and meet him in person or you can email him with your pictures and he will give you an online consultation. I chose to go with an email consultation while my friend drove down to Beverly Hills to meet him in person. He responds to your email and will answer any questions you may have. You can also call his office and speak with Grace. She is very knowledgeable and can also help you with any needs, concerns, or questions.
Before my surgery, I did meet Dr. Kim in person. Meeting him was very intimidating since this was my first surgery and I was very, very nervous. One quality that Dr. Kim possess that I believe is very important for a plastic surgeon to have is that he is very honest. He will be very blunt and will tell you what he believes will be best. He is a master of all types of incisions so you can choose whatever incisions you want (I chose transauxiliary). He will never tell you WHAT to do because essentially that is a decision that the patient must make on his or her own.
I am a very special case. I already have breasts (B cup), however my breasts are very uneven. My left breast was one full cup size bigger than my right. Also, I have a major case of scoliosis so my ribcage and breasts do not sit evenly. Dr. Kim was aware of this the moment he saw me. He was able to give me the correct size implants to even out my breasts and make them fuller (EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED). He was able to determine my implants plants to make my breasts look perfect (to let you know how uneven my breasts were, my right implant is almost 100CC bigger than my left). I would have never imagined I can ever look like this (NORMAL).
During my follow up appointment, Dr. Kim was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable and confident in myself. He asks me if I had any concerns and if I was happy (YES, I WAS VERY HAPPY).
One more person that you will meet when you have surgery is his nurse, Nurse Hahn (I forgot her first name). She is the most friendliest person on Earth and she will take excellent care of you preop and postop. She is so sweet and attentive. She, like everyone else in Dr. Kim’s office, is very knowledgeable. If you to go Dr. Kim, she WILL be the on that takes care of you.
Dr. Kim is a great at what he does. He is very expensive, but trust me, he is worth EVERY PENNY. You get what you pay for. Some people may say he is arrogant, but he’s not. He is just brutally honest and is very good at what he does. If you do not go for him because you believe he’s this way, you are probably making the biggest mistake of your cosmetic life. He will give you EXACTLY what you want. If you want to look natural, you will LOOK NATURAL. If you want the perky look, you will have the perky barbie look. Be sure you tell him exactly what you want. In the end, if you want to get something done, it is your decision to do so, just make sure you do your research and choose a good doctor. I have no regrets and am very happy that I went with Dr. Kim.
AMAZING DOCTOR!! I had my breast done in march and it was so last min, but i knew i wanted to get them done… Dr.Kim was the first doctor I saw and right away i knew that I was going to pick him as my doctor and I am so glad i went with my gut feeling!! everyone loves his work!! they are the perfect size for my body and look amazing!! i went from a full B to a mid D.. It was a little bigger then I had asked for originally but I told him to do what he thought would look good and He deff. knows what he is doing, they look great!!!!! Highly recommend him… painful but worth it =)
I normally don’t write reviews, but I found Dr. Kim through Yelp and every one spoke so glowingly about him that he had to be the first doctor I went in for a consultation when I was considering rhinoplasty. Unfortunately, the best word I could use to describe him would be DISAPPOINTMENT.
Despite the pictures on his website and the reviews on Yelp, this man IS NOT “skilled” nor as “genuine” or caring as you would expect. In fact, I would venture to say he’s the worst doctor I have seen while in Beverly Hills, and this means a lot considering I’ve seen several doctors since my initial consultation with him. I showed up early, but his office made me wait 35 minutes later than my appointment time. I’ll give him this though: his office was clean, very beautifully decorated, and the waiting room was crowded with patients. But, that’s about the extent of any nice impression I had of his office. He stepped into the consultation room, and did not smile nor greeted me (would it hurt to say “Hi, how are you?”). Instead, he seemed impatient and just asked me “Ok, what don’t you like about your nose?” I proceeded to explain why I wanted rhinoplasty, and he went straight to taking notes–never once looked at my nose nor cared to give me any insight into my comments. He then asked me if I wanted to see some before + after pics of his patients, and then stepped out to get them. He made me wait another 15 minutes (I’m not kidding you!) in a freezing consultation room before he came back. I’m assuming he was going in between consultations with other patients. His work seemed nice from the pictures, but he advised me to get a silicone implant. I didn’t know this at the time, but an artificial implant comes with a lot more risks of mobility, and the possibility that your body will reject it. HE NEVER ONCE MENTIONED THESE RISKS. Every other doctor I’ve been to in BH have all said that they will graft from my own septum to augment my bridge, which is a whole lot better and makes a hell of a lot more sense than putting in an implant! I’ve since learned that some doctors use implants instead of harvesting from your own septum because it saves procedural time. That’s NOT the kind of doctor I would want working on my nose–someone who takes short cuts.
I was in the consultation for roughly 30 minutes, but I probably talked to him for no more than 10minutes. He just wasn’t giving me the time of day. Not to mention, I just got up and left before meeting with his patient manager because they were so backed up and I was fed up with waiting. If this is how much time he invests in his patients BEFORE surgery, can you imagine what the post-op follow-ups would be like? I’d probably never get to see him!
I can’t say much about his skills or expertise since I never went forward with the procedure from him, but I can attest that he’s not the warm nor caring doctor that he advertises to be. I don’t appreciate the way he runs his business and I WOULD NOT recommend him to anyone. Also, he can’t crack a joke for the life of him (but that probably has more to do with his personality than skills). It just wasn’t a good impression nor pleasant consultation experience for me, and more-so now that I can compare it to other doctors that I’ve seen since him.
Of course, like with any review, you should always take it with a grain of salt. I’m just giving you my two cents from my personal experience with him so you could better make your decision. Plastic surgery is a big deal, so just make sure you can find a doctor who you could trust, and be sure that he will spend adequate time with you before AND after surgery.
Ive been going to some consultations with my friend since she wants to get her boobs done. We went to see Dr David Kim because he came highly recommended. Also heard that he might be a bit expensive, but when it comes to surgery; you want the best, its about the quality and not the price, right? The office is in a really nice area and the office is very modern and nicely decorated.
The waiting room was full of people and I do hate waiting, but definitely couldnt complain when its for a free consultation. He was really nice and I guess I got caught up in the excitement, because I ended up getting a consultation for the hell of it! lol. It was very quick, he just asked some questions and went over the details of the surgery. I really liked that he wasnt cheesy and pushy like some other doctors we’ve met. He had a ton of ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures and everything looked amazing! I can see why so many people have recommended him! He is really freaking good at what he does!
After all that, we went over pricing and surgery questions with a consultant. She was really nice and answered our million questions and took the time to explain when we’d get confused on something.
If I ever decide to get anything done, it would definitely be with this doctor. He might seem a little expensive, but honestly – you get what you pay for! And when it comes to surgery…. I want the best!

I had bad results on breast surgery and paid top $$$ not worth it! The patient coordinator is a flake and doesn’t return phone calls.

I had a rhinoplasty and neck liposuction done by Dr David Kim on 02/1/11 and am thrilled with the results!! He did exactly what he said he was going to do, and my nose and jaw line look so much better than I thought they ever could. My nose looks natural and balanced with my face and I love my profile! Dr David Kim has amazing skills, is very meticulous and I would highly recommend him to anyone!
I would not recommend Dr David Kim to anyone..I had a BA in March 2010 (paid $ 7500), immediatly capsulized and had a redo BA in May 2010 in which I was charged an additional $3600…. Now Iam exoeriencing the same problm 8 mos later and he wants to charge me $5K to fix it again… HELL NO!!! Does he expect for the patient to keep paying for his mistakes? Any “Good” Dr would stand behind his work and fix it and not try to bank off his own mistake. I am sooo upset with him! I have seeked a second opinion from another Dr and would rather pay a new Dr to fix Dr David Kim work then to give my money to Dr. Kim again. He is a joke! Pretty sad that his own office employee is experiencing the same problem and is having hers redone next month. I think he purposly makes mistake so that he can charge you a second time and make even more money off you. Cant beleive he thinks its exceptable to put me through a third surgery in less then a year for the same problem. If you are smart..STAY AWAY!
Okay so I just had my second procedure with Dr. David Kim, and I must say I am thoroughly impressed 
Definitely a 5 star Doc. My first procedure was a rhinoplasty in mid December. Obviously Im still in the healing process but my nose is healing BEAUTIFULLY! He did exactly what I asked him to do, and most importantly, my nose looks so NATURAL.. This was my biggest fear about getting a nose job, ending up looking like Michael Jackson.. but he has such a fine touch nobody can tell i had the procedure done.. My mom and close friend could tell something was different, but couldn’t quite guess what, and that was exactly the response I wanted
As for my 2nd procedure yesterday, Jan 20th, I had the umbilical B.A. starting off a deflated C cup, hoping for Full C/Small D cup. I’m still bandaged up and in a little pain since my operation was only yesterday, but I know my boobies are gonna look PERFECT.. i snuck a peek under the bandage, and my breasts dont even look like they are mine, they look like they belong on a mannequin somewhere All i can say is I’m so happy with Dr. Kim and he will be my doctor for any and everything as I get older. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who is considering getting anything done…
And to comment on the review below, Dr. Kim can definitely pull off the “FAKE” look, you just have to open your mouth and say that is what you want… The majority of women coming in for breast implants, especially first timers, want natural results and are very afraid of going too big. So of course he is gonna specialize in the “Natural” look. I think I speak for a lot of women when I say I’d rather go with a doctor who specializes in the Natural look over the opposite, but hey, to each her own!!!
I had a rhinoplasty done with Dr. David E. Kim. It looks worse than it used to and now I’m having breathing problems.
Amazing job done by Dr David Kim. I was an out of state patient and traveled back and forth to his office. My only complaint is his staff is very unhelpful and not very warm.He is such an amazing artist but he needs a new staff to bring his office to the amazing level it should be.
I have mixed reviews about Dr. Kim. Yes, I had a procedure done with him maybe 4 years ago now and I can tell you this: If you want the NATURAL look, he’s your go to guy. I’ve met random girls in real life that had work done by him and we all had the same response: Natural. I kind of wish I had more of the fake look, and to my surprise, the other ladies I met had the same wish. It’s nothing bad, I guess you always want what you can’t have. Other than that, he is amazing and has a great personality. Not bad on the eyes either 
I felt safe and in good hands with him. He pretty much knew what I wanted and gave me exactly that. update- PLEEEEASE STOP MESSAGING ME ABOUT HIM. if this is something you truly want, just GO FOR IT.
My secret is out! Dr. David Kim is amazing. While I won’t say how many procedures I’ve had with him or planning to have in the future. He is my go-to doctor. Even if I have to travel further from SF to Beverly Hills, it’s all worth it.

I got a revision rhinoplasty and i couldnt be happier with it.I loved the pics Dr David Kim had on his website and decided to go to him.After the surgery it was very easy to recover especially compared to my previous surgery and after the swelling it turned out looking exactly how i had described to him that i wanted it.If anyone is looking to get a revision i know that its scary and u hear a bunch of horror stories but i would completely trust dr. kim to do it a thousand times again.He doesnt try to sell you like the other doctors do so hes pretty quick and to the point in the pre-op but Dr David Kim really does know what hes doing and i was amazed at how well he did my nose.I wanted a small nose that didnt look fake and after my first surgery my columella hung down which i hated but after dr.kim took the cast off i noticed that that was completely gone which was a huge relief because almost evry bfore after pic i saw the dr.s still left it hanging but he didnt.I highly recommend him to anyone!
Dr David Kim has the WORST bed side manner I have ever encountered!!! I had a capsule contrature that he tried to fix from a surgery he did. Well, long story short he didn’t fix it, and has no compassion at all, so if you have any problems after surgery! RUN don’t walk if your considering breast aug. you will REGRET IT if you have any problems!
I proudly say Doctor David Edwin Kim is MY doctor!!! There are so many Plastic Surgeons out there, but only a few of them are artists. I truly believe MY doctor is an artist!
I got several recommendations from ladies in a breast implant forum and started searching for him from Google and Yahoo a few months ago. I found his website and looked at the before and after pictures. I loved his work! Amazingly awesome!!! Since then, I counted my days to meet him for the first time.
All of the girls, who have recommended him to me, saying this exactly sentence, “Doctor David Kim is amazing!” I did not know exactly what it meant until he did mine. Yes! He is truly amazing! A real artist! I also love his personality and his professionalism. He is sweet, gentle, respectful, caring, kind, simple, skillful, experienced, and patient.

Dr. Kim did my breast Augmentation on February 15, 2007. It has been over three years now and my breasts are still soft, beautiful, perfect, and no complication whatsoever!!!
I also got to know more than 40 ladies, through a Breast Implant Forum, who are Dr. Kim’s patients. Some of them were not happy with their results, which were done by other doctors. However, after they found Dr. Kim, he fixed (re-do) them and they are much happier! Redo jobs are a lot more difficult than first BA, but you will be blowing-away once you see the different between before and after pictures from some of my friends, who were fixed by Dr. Kim!
Choosing Dr. Kim was the best decision I ever made! I have no regret, except I should have done the breast augmentation years earlier!!! lol

Consult for tummy tuck was in a rude fashion.He is rudley blunt and acts as though he couldn’t care less about gaining a new patient.Also , was not up to date on procedures.
